meet the crew!
Morgan and Braham are teachers and nature enthusiasts who are living nomadically through work/stay exchanges and other freelance work like house/pet sitting, creating content & more!
They are passionate about creativity, community building and life-long learning. Their energetic personalities, positive attitudes, and clear communication styles are all strengths for this self-motivated couple. They have experience working on all types of projects, are trustee house sitters, and love taking care of dogs with an emphasis on care, exercise, and attention.
They both love to travel and learn from nature, while activating their creativity and personal reflective practice. Morgan and Braham are both motivated by community building and are interested in deepening their knowledge of gardening, homesteading, natural building methods, nomadic living, and learning from the land.
They find happiness in the small moments of life: building a campfire, connecting with strangers, polar plunges, writing poetry, or catching a sunrise. Presence takes precedence
Morgan & Braham are seeking work in California for this winter/spring season.

Morgan Bukovec
ARTIST + ORGANIZER
A mixed media artist with a love of color and passion for community building. As a creative she is driven to create work that shares her perception of beauty in the world and foster connections with those she shares it with. Morgan is a curious and empathetic conversationalist that loves to ask those deeper questions. Art and creativity are at the center of her world, which weave into any project she is working on.

Braham Glasgow
SCIENCE + STORYTELLING
A general handyman with a positive attitude and a lot of hustle. He grew up in a household that always tried to fix it first before calling in the pros, so he’s learned a little bit of everything: construction/demolition, electrical, plumbing, roofing, painting, flooring, you name it and he’s probably watched a how-to video on it. Braham is also a former high school Biology teacher and coach, who recently left his sales position to hit the road with his pack.

Charlie
8 YR OLD LAB MIX
Described as a “hopeful optimistic” this yellow duracell battery only has one thing on her mind… FETCH. She is well behaved, incredibly sweet and actively hoping that you will throw whatever is at your disposal. She is good around people of all ages as well as other dogs. We love taking Charlie to large open fields and bodies of water where we can chuck to her to her heart’s content. 100% sweet girl.

Jax
7 YR OLD BOXER MIX
Meet the Yin to Charlie’s Yang. Jax is a good tempered, friendly boxer mix with a big head and even bigger heart. He loves people, other dogs and naps. He isn’t super picky, as long as he has a soft blanket or warm sunspot, he’ll be content to lounge around all day. More often than not, he’s the first one ready to turn in at night, politely asking to be let into the truck. And although buoyantly challenged, he enjoys swimming almost as much as Charlie…
what we do
work/stay exchange
We provide our time and skills, you provide the accommodations.
house/pet sitting
Feel bad about leaving your pet behind on your next trip or need a house sitter? We provide intentional care.
collaborations
Looking for someone to document your next event or product? We got you covered.
We are seasoned pet owners with over 10 years of pet sitting experience. We’ve cared for both puppies and oldies, and know how to handle all of the additional attention they might need.
We’ve got two friendly dogs that get along with other animals. We love to take them to big, wide open places to play fetch and run around on the daily. So we’ll make sure that your’s get more than just two walks a day (unless that’s all they need), and will go to bed exhausted and happy every night. If introducing new animals to the equation causes some worry, we are happy to provide references from previous stays!
When you book with us, you get us 24/7, day and night, for the duration of our sit. Your furry friend will get constant affection and supervision so you can travel with the assurance that your property and family is cared for. We can also provide dog walks & check-ins, too!
what is a work/stay exchange?
A work/stay is a volunteer exchange of work for accommodations. We provide the workforce, and you provide the accommodations and a list of what you want done.
This is a flexible and customizable agreement that can look something like this:
Morgan & Braham each work 20 hours, 40 hours total, in exchange for a week’s worth of lodging and meals.
Currently: Seeking a December work/stay exchange or house/pet sitting opportunity in the areas of Southern California.
We are trustee house sitters and dog sitters/walkers. We have experience with leash training, E-collar training, and voice commands, giving your dog the best care with intention.
Our schedule is flexible!
-
ANYTHING! We are hard workers and fast learners.
We have worked on everything from demolitions, yard work, constructing fences, weeding, landscaping, gardening, cooking/cleaning, cordwood masonry, staining/stripping wood, installations, pet/house sitting, and more!
No project is too big or too boring.
-
Lodging
Typically a spare room or a place to park our truck. We are fully equipped to sleep in our camper truck, so it is not a deal-breaker if space or our dogs are an issue.
Amenities
We are pretty self-sufficient, but access to water, electricity, bathrooms, showers, laundry, kitchen, communal areas, wifi, is greatly appreciated!
Meals
Preparing and sharing meals together is our preferred method during exchanges, but open to alternative arrangements (i.e. food stipends).
-
Not a problem!
We can adjust the length of our stay to accommodate the work load.
And if there is more work after that and you are willing to pay, we charge $25-$30/hour depending on the projects.
-
That is OK!
Work/stays are customizable to what you need.
For example, a host just wanted their blueberry bushes weeded and we completed that project in 2 days. Instead of staying for a week at their home, we stayed 4 days.
If other tasks or projects you want complete reveal themselves during our time, then we can chat about it!
Communication is key and we are flexible.
Braham burned through our list for the week in about a day and a half so we kept adding jobs to keep him busy. I doubt there is any job too demanding for him! He comes with a strong work ethic and lots of skills and experience in light construction and manual labor which was a boon for us living on a small farm. He helped dig post holes and build a fence, dig trenches, spread gravel and a river rock fire barrier, sand and stain exterior woodwork, rescreen our screen porch, and remove gnarly blackberries by the roots.
reviews & references
When I learned that she was an artist and potter, I rented studio time for her to throw a set of a dozen mugs on a wheel! I appreciated her attention to detail and the pride she takes in her work.
They each bring their own skill sets which are broadly applicable to all kinds of work situations. Morgan is a wonderful artist with great reserves of creativity and inspiration. She’s a whiz at organizing, and has a strong intuitive sense that helps her in doing such tasks for others. Braham is handy in the trades and in general, and is also thoughtful and can offer fresh and creative ideas on how to tackle difficult or novel jobs.
We got alot of work done at our property, mostly dealing with fireproofing the lot, so we cleared alot of sticks, mulched and made a path, and moved/stacked lots of wood. They also helped with some hard to reach window cleaning, and finishing of a new wood storage hut.
They worked hard and completed some back breaking demolition.
Braham and Morgan are excellent workers/helpers. They are both self-starters who can be trusted to work independently. They have great attitudes, with a clear desire to be truly helpful. And they are both very capable young people who have clearly learned to take care of themselves and are able to work smoothly as part of a team.
Morgan stripped and sanded two double drawer night stands, cleaned windows, pulled weeds and blackberries, helped spread a river rock fire barrier, sand and stain exterior woodwork, and prep dinner with me.
They both worked very hard at whatever task we requested and volunteered much assistance around the house beyond that. We would highly recommend Morgan and Braham to anyone seeking competent Workawayers
So the work they provided was greatly appreciated, but our favorite part was just getting to know these two fascinating souls, and their obedient yet playful and cuddly dogs. We shared many conversations about life, our travels, and more over meals and while working or exploring the forest together.
Morgan and Braham are absolute top tier work stay helpers not just for their work capabilities and output, but for their welcome presence outside working hours. They’re both great and enthusiastic cooks if you dine communally, and they also are great with clean up and tidiness and all the things you want in a communal setup.
